.....women with drug addictions, twin births, rainbow babies, Advanced Maternal Age, breech babies, planned cesareans, unplanned cesareans, IVF, mood disorders, and adoption. I have additional training in: Gilligan's Guide, Advanced Doula Support, Spinning Babies, Birth Trauma, When Sexual Abuse Survivors Give Birth, Optimal Foetal Positioning, Loss in Pregnancy and Childbirth, Mayan Abdominal Massage, and Rebozo Techniques. I am also experienced in providing you with support through a miscarriage, fetal demise, adoption, and abortion.
I’ve had 3 pregnancies, 2 live births: with my 1st I had pre-eclampsia with him and spent 10 weeks on bedrest; I lost my 2nd, a girl, at 19 weeks gestation; and my 3rd was born at 32 weeks via an emergency C-section due to cord and placenta problems, spending 1 month in NICU.
I live in St. Paul with my menagerie of animals, 1 crazy dog, and 3 cats. My free time is spent with 5 grandchildren (notice how the animals came 1st), paper-crafting, and world travel. I’ve lived in Malaysia, Indonesia, Libya, and Egypt. I also speak Spanish and enough Arabic to get by.

I believe that the birthing person innately knows how to give birth. I view birth as a normal process in life, and that all babies do come out, given time. As your doula I do not make choices for you, you make your own choices. I ultimately support you and your partner in how you determine and acknowledge that that can change in the course of labor. I do not take the place of your partner or support team but am there to support you in how you decide. Each person births differently; some may need me 110%, and some may need their own quiet space, but just need the presence of another. I pride myself on being instinctual enough to see how you cope with labor and what might be helpful for you.
What is Support?
• Support is unconditional. Listening, not judging, not telling your own story
• Support is not offering advice. It is offering a tissue, a touch, a hug, caring
• We are here to listen, not to work miracles
• We are here to help discover what you are feeling, not to make feelings go away
• We are here to help identify your options, not to tell you which options to choose
• We are here to discuss steps with you, not to take steps for you
• We are here to help you to discover your own strength, not to rescue you and leave you vulnerable
• We are here to help you discover how you can help yourself, not to take responsibility for you
• We are here to help you learn to choose, not to make it unnecessary for you to make difficult choices
